The Jesse Cosby Neighborhood Center provides community-based and culturally competent services to individuals and families in need of assistance and serves as a coordinating link between the greater Cedar Valley and available resources.  Our primary areas of service are: Senior Services, Community Outreach and Program Development.

One element of our uniqueness is derived from our historical context as a leading agency for minority centered services. Established in 1966, the Jesse Cosby Neighborhood Center is one of the oldest standing social service agencies in the Cedar Valley Community. We have assisted generations of families with assistance, resource coordination and family-oriented activities at this site for the past 44 years establishing trusted relationships as a result. Our legacy of community-based services was fostered through the early actions of namesake, Jesse Cosby. Not only was Jesse Cosby considered a gifted musician and world renowned square dance caller, he was also responsible for creating some of this community’s earliest racially- integrated social venues. Through his gift of music and fellowship, he sought to fund the creation of an institution that would inspire, empower and provide opportunities for community development.
